Christmas Parties For Slum Children

Posted: 22/12/2006

On 21st December at 11am Asha slums were filled with cheer as eager slum children rushed to attended their Christmas parties. All Asha resource centres were decorated and had Christmas trees with presents beneath them.

Though each slum celebrated in different ways all attending had a lovely time.

In most slums excited children performed a nativity play about the birth of Jesus, followed by songs and dances. Father Christmas then presented the children with gifts.

After having lunch children decided that they were game for more fun and wanted more dancing and the party carried on until 5!

Seeing the children enjoy themselves so much was very rewarding – this Christmas really was special for them. We at Asha and all of the slum children are very thankful to those who contributed and made the parties possible.

Thank you Asha

So many things have got better in my area since Asha has been here. I had months of training, and at first people didn't want to listen to me, but now they are happy they can get healthcare within the community.
