The City life Church team, lead by Dan Pooley, an Asha Ambassador, arrived on 25th January to renovate the Asha centre at Jeevan Nagar. Though one of the team members, Sewa Singh, had to cut short his visit because of an urgent matter at home, the others have managed to complete the renovation work well in time.
The beautifully painted centre has under sea and forest murals that were loved by eager children who managed to sneak into the centre. The excited children of Jeevan Nagar said that they cannot wait to play in the centre.
During their visit the team also visited other slums, taught the Jeevan Nagar children some craftwork, and attended a few prayer meetings. The photograph below is taken during a prayer meeting at Mayapuri.
The centre is to be inaugurated on 7th February.

When Asha first came to my slum I didn't think that they could help - other organisations had been and gone. They stayed, and so I got involved and was trained as a community health volunteer. Now I have more confidence, I help to make changes in my community and I take pride in being able to help others.
