World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is about increasing awareness, raising money, fighting prejudice & improving education about HIV/AIDS. UNAIDS estimates that 33.3 million people are living with HIV, including 2.5 million children. Last year 2.6 million people became newly infected and 1.8 million people died from AIDS.

India has over 2.5 million people living with HIV. People without access to good quality healthcare services are more likely to be without prevention, proper diagosis and treatment options. Asha offers HIV testing, counseling and education and spreads awareness about HIV in Delhi's slums.

Thank you Asha

Girls don't get the same opportunities in school as boys - we are hardly allowed to touch the computers - but thanks to Asha I get the chance to use computers too and have learnt a lot.
